R&D - Software Development Engineer - Belgium or G.D. Lux

The Company: Our client, e-Xstream engineering is a software and engineering services company 100% focused on the multi-scale modeling of composite materials and structures. They help their customers, material suppliers and material users across the industries (Auto, Aero,…), to reduce the cost and time needed to develop innovative materials and products using DIGIMAT, the nonlinear material modeling platform they are developing. e-Xstream (http://www.e-xstream.com)was founded in 2003 in Belgium and Luxembourg. e-Xstream is an MSC Software company which is part of Hexagon AB (www.mscsoftware.com and www.hexagon.com). Today, e-Xstream is the largest material engineering team and to support its growth they are hiring a talented R&D – Software Development Engineer.

Your profile

You are the ideal candidate if you have: 

  • A Ph.D. (or a Double Master)  in mechanics, material science or mathematics
  • 0 to 10 years’ work experience
  • A strong background in nonlinear solid mechanics
  • Experience in the development of numerical simulation software using object oriented programming language like C++/C#
  • A good level of English as business language. The knowledge of French is a plus
  • A high level of self-motivation, flexibility and self-learning aptitude

Responsibilities

  •  The job consists in working within the R&D team which develops state of the art multi-scale technology for modeling heterogeneous materials. 
  • The technology relies on models and methodologies to simulate the behaviors of complex material during their processing or during their life time. 
  • The models and methods are implemented in the DIGIMAT suite of software for the accurate, robust and efficient simulation of a large variety of composites materials and structures in the automotive, aerospace, and many other industries in Europe, USA and Asia. 
  • As member of the core software development team you will be in charge of developing new models and methodologies aiming at doing material engineering (e.g. predicting material performances following material microstructure), virtual testing, structural engineering as well as ICME (Integrated Computational Material Engineering).
